Corporate Social Responsibility

At Nexient, we feel very fortunate to be able to do work that we love.  We try to put this gratitude to work and express our values by making investments of time, money and expertise that support our communities and our profession.

In particular, we are passionate about helping new generations and under-represented groups get inspired and involved with technology. Here are just a few ways we’ve shown that commitment in the last year:

Sponsoring the Newark Memorial High School robotics team, and hosting them along with Congressman Ro Khanna as we inaugurated our new Silicon Valley office

Sharing innovations and coloring fun with our Ann Arbor neighbors at the 2017 A2 Tech Trek

Sponsoring the three-year anniversary celebration of Girl Develop IT – Ann Arbor, and other chapter activities throughout the year to grow skills, opportunities, awareness and confidence for women in technology

Playing Santa’s elves for the Salvation Army’s annual Adopt-a-Family campaign

Shooting selfies during a talk on Non-traditional paths to technology careers at Detroit Tech Inclusion

Contributing technology expertise for Best Buy’s Teen Tech Centers, which are helping to bridge the digital divide by creating a safe place for teens to develop critical skills in programming, filmmaking, music production and design

Partnering with Michigan Works! to recruit, train and develop technology workers in America’s heartland, leveraging our Career Framework

Sharing ideas and advice on overcoming the skills gap with education and community leaders in Atlanta

Of course, corporate social responsibility starts at home.  That’s why we create an inclusive, healthy, sustainable and happy environment for Nexient people by:

  • Replacing office Styrofoam cups with eco-friendly Nexient mugs
  • Installing gender-neutral bathrooms
  • Celebrating holidays from many different cultures
  • Building prayer rooms and maternity spaces for worship and lactation
  • Sponsoring walking groups and daily healthy activities
