The aging AS400 platform had become difficult to maintain and its clunky interface frustrated users. Data structure limitations made it virtually impossible to deliver the depth of management reporting the business needed. Above all, it was simply incompatible with the company’s enterprise technology roadmap.

Nexient solution

Nexient helped the client implement a modern, open-source architecture. The developers worked through the agile transformation stages in parallel with teams developing and testing multiple integration APIs, so the new system could run alongside disparate legacy ordering and scheduling systems that had not yet been upgraded.

A key feature of the new system is a simplified user interface, streamlining the process for creating customer transactions and accounts. By eliminating duplicate data entry, the client now has a single source of truth for billing information.
